A Touch Of Paris On The Menu

CAFE Stivell brings a touch of Paris to Hunters Hill with its alfresco dining and crepes cooked to original French recipes.
Patrons can enjoy a meal or coffee in the pleasant garden courtyard surrounded by shrubs, or in the well-appointed dining rooms.
"Hunters Hill people are generally well travelled, and they compare us favourably with restaurants they know in Europe, particularly for value," said Mark Dickey, co-owner with Mark Scanlan.
"They come here to relax, and everyone agrees the courtyard has a lovely ambience in fine weather.
"We are also popular for small functions, and already we are heavily booked for endof-year parties."
Mr Dickey said the restaurant attracted patrons from the eastern suburbs and from throughout the North Shore.
The restaurant, near the corner of Alexandra and Ferry streets, offers a new menu every month.
November luncheons include spirelli pasta with king prawns, speck and crayfish cream; veal T-bone with roasted roma tomatoes and asparagus and corn salsa; and golden crumbed scallops with crispy bacon salad and chive aioli -all at $13.50.
Evening meals include North African marinated chicken breasts, chilli couscous and braised bok choy at $15; beef tenderloin, fried chats and pepper corn sauce at $16.50; and char grilled rabbit fillet, ratatouille salad and pear chutney, at $15.50.
Cafe Stivell is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Crepes and gourmet sandwiches are a specialty.
